Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton will meet with Senate Majority Leader John Thune after defeating incumbent Senator John Cornyn in last week’s GOP primary runoff.
Paxton said he has received support from Thune, along with Republican Conference Chair Tom Cotton and Republican Senatorial Committee Chair Tim Scott, and plans to meet with them this week.
Paxton says they need to understand how important Texas is for the GOP congressional majority. Republicans haven’t lost a statewide race in Texas since 1994.
