The Texas Department of Public Safety is ending a restriction on commercial driver’s licenses and permits for immigrants who have temporary agriculture work visas.

The DPS announced the decision on Monday, also removing the Spanish-language option for CDL tests due to changes in federal requirements.

Last September, Texas stopped issuing CDLs to many immigrants, including refugees, people with asylum, and DACA recipients.

Monday’s change will allow people with H-2A visas, issued to temporary agriculture workers, to once again hold valid CDLs in Texas.
