Locally heavy rain over the next few days could produce some isolated flooding in South Texas.

The National Weather Service is putting the region under a flood watch beginning this afternoon. Rainfall amounts are expected to stay between three and six inches, though some areas could get more than eight inches.

The flood watch will expire on Wednesday morning.
