Federal officials are proposing more than three-and-a-half million dollars in fines following a sulfuric acid spill at an industrial facility in Channelview.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspected the BWC Terminals facility after the acid spill last December injured several employees.

For the cleanup, BWC hired Coastal Environmental Solutions, which brought in One Way Environmental Services as a subcontractor.

OSHA cited all three companies for various violations related to the spill and the cleanup.
