President Trump says he believes the U.S.-Iran ceasefire is “over.” Speaking overnight from the NATO summit in Turkey, Trump said he’d allow U.S. negotiators to keep talking about the matter but said he didn’t want to waste any more time with the Iranians.
His announcement comes as fresh attacks have reignited tensions across the Middle East with Iran targeting ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz and the U.S. military striking dozens of targets in response.
The U.S. Treasury Department also moved on Tuesday to reimpose sanctions on the sale of Iranian oil, immediately sending the price of crude up.
