The National Weather Service is confirming an EF-1 tornado touched down in northwest Bexar County on Wednesday morning.

The weather agency says the twister started about two miles southwest of the I-10 and Loop 1604 interchange and dissipated just north of The Rim. Top winds of 100 mph blew the roof off a building at the Oasis Apartments on UTSA Boulevard.

Flooding is the main concern in the San Antonio area today. First responders have carried out dozens of high-water rescues, but no deaths have been reported.
