New polling shows Texas state lawmaker James Talarico is expanding his lead over Attorney General Ken Paxton in the race for U.S. Senate.
According to the Texas Public Opinion Research survey shared by The Texas Tribune on Tuesday, Talarico has a five percentage-point advantage among likely voters over Paxton ahead of the November election.
A previous poll conducted by the nonpartisan public opinion research center also found Talarico beating Paxton 47 percent to 44 percent.
The Texas Senate race has shaped up as one of the most closely-watched and expensive midterm races in the country.
