The U.S. and Saudi Arabia have launched airstrikes on Iranian-backed groups in Iraq. The attacks carried out late Tuesday come after Iran launched ballistic missiles at U.S. forces in the Middle East.

In a post on X, U.S. Central Command said all of the missiles were successfully intercepted. Centcom described the assault as “an attempted surprise attack.” The strikes in Iraq targeted what Centcom called “terrorist logistics and weapons sites.”
