Attorney General Ken Paxton’s attempt to overturn the gun ban at the State Fair of Texas is encountering another setback.
Paxton sued Dallas and the nonprofit that runs the fair, claiming that the policy violates a state law that prevents local governments from banning guns in public places.
On Thursday, the all-Republican 15th Court of Appeals upheld a lower court’s rejection of Paxton’s argument. They agreed with the city’s position that while Dallas owns Fair Park, the gun ban was put in place by the fair’s operators, who lease the park.
