Several City Council members are calling for a moratorium on future development of data centers in San Antonio.

Three council members signed a memo last Wednesday to force a vote on a moratorium of 90 to 180 days. The memo requests a meeting by August 31st.

District 6 Councilman Ric Galvan said at a Friday news conference that the idea is to give local regulations time to get onto the books, and to allow state lawmakers to meet and discuss concerns.
