A federal judge is blocking the U.S. Postal Service from enforcing a Trump executive order that restricts voting by mail.
The order signed in March gives states 60 days before the midterm elections to provide a list of eligible voters, or the Postal Service would not accept their mail-in ballots.
On Tuesday, a U.S. district judge in Boston ruled in favor of a lawsuit brought by voting rights groups, and said Trump’s order was threatening “an erosion of trust in our democracy,” and that there’s a “critical need for an injunction to prevent Defendants from changing election rules on the eve of the election.”
