A teen is facing charges for a deadly shooting three years ago in Brownsville. Investigators began looking for the then-16-year-old suspect after the February 2023 shooting led to the death of Martin Leal Longoria.
The suspect reportedly fled to Mexico after the shooting. Police officers working with the U.S. Marshals Service, the FBI and the Border Patrol arrested the now 19-year-old suspect on Thursday in the 18-hundred block of East Tyler Street.
The suspect is being held at a juvenile detention center until he is certified as an adult for trial.
