Multiple threats are being investigated at schools in the La Joya school district.

The investigations began last Friday, when a teacher found a box cutter in a student’s backpack at Tabasco Elementary. That led to an additional probe into a verbal threat involving a firearm.

Investigators are also looking into phone threats reported on Monday at Cesar Chavez Middle School. District officials say there are no active threats at either school.
