A former employee of the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office is facing charges for allegedly trying to bring drugs into a jail.

Claudia Garcia was arrested Friday and charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and taking a prohibited substance or item into a correctional facility.

The District Attorney’s Office also announced the arrest of Robert Vargas, who was charged with having a prohibited substance or item in a correctional facility. No other details were released.
