A McAllen restaurant is being recognized for authentic Mexican cuisine. The Mexican Consulate recently presented Momole with the Sello M Gastronomy Certification, which is awarded by the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Mexican Academy of Gastronomy.
The award recognizes restaurants outside Mexico that preserve ancestral cooking techniques, use authentic ingredients and serve as cultural ambassadors of Mexican gastronomy. Momole is reportedly the only restaurant in South Texas to receive the honor.
