By The City of Alamo is celebrating the completion of a new drainage project. City leaders held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the one-point-eight-million-dollar project Wednesday. Old drainage pipes along Alamo Road have been replaced with 48-inch pipes that will help reduce flooding in the area.
Mayor J.R. Garza said the busy corridor needed the improvement, noting that more than 150 water rescues happened along the roadway during a rain event last year.
