The City of Roma is blaming recent complaints about foul-smelling water on border wall construction. The city has been responding to complaints about the smell since Monday.
Officials now believe that work on border security infrastructure and law enforcement activity near the city’s raw water intake caused the odor. They’ve asked the groups involved to avoid a 100-foot area around the intake while the situation is evaluated.
