An athlete died during the swimming leg of the Ironman Texas race in The Woodlands on Saturday. Organizers wrote on social media they are saddened to learn of the death and are sending deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the athlete.
The annual Ironman Texas triathlon comprises a 2-point-4-mile swim in North Shore Park and Lake Woodlands, a 112-mile bike and a 26-point-2-mile run around Lake Woodlands.
