By Edinburg leaders are giving the interim city attorney a promotion. Edinburg native Ben Alonzo has been named the full-time city attorney after a vote last month by the city council.
Alonzo worked for the Hidalgo County D.A.’s Office and the City of McAllen before being hired as a deputy city attorney in Edinburg.
Mayor Omar Ochoa said Alonzo has shown exceptional professionalism, integrity and dedication throughout his service to the city.
