A beverage distribution company is responding to a lawsuit that blames its products for a South Texas teen’s death. Seventeen-year-old Larissa Rodriguez died last year, and her parents filed suit against Glazer’s Beer and Beverage in April.
The lawsuit claims the Weslaco High School cheerleader died from excessive caffeine consumption tied to one of the company’s energy drinks.
The company filed its response on May 22nd, denying the allegations, saying it did not manufacture the product, and that adequate warnings about caffeine content were provided. The family is seeking a million dollars in damages.
