The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office has opened an investigation after a body was found in a ditch in Mercedes. The body was found on Monday night along FM-491 south of Mile Ten Road.
An autopsy identified the dead man as 52-year-old Cesar Gerardo Garcia. The cause and manner of death are pending, though investigators say there is no evidence of foul play.
