By State Representative Jon Rosenthal is in the running for a seat on the Texas Railroad Commission. The Houston Democrat announced Monday that instead of seeking reelection in the 2026 midterms, he’s a candidate for the agency that regulates the Texas oil and gas industry.
Rosenthal is an oilfield mechanical engineer who’s been in the Texas House since 2019. He says his expertise and experience qualify him to oversee the state’s energy industry.
