(Edinburg, TX) — A former Edinburg fire chief will have his name placed on the National Fallen Firefighter Memorial in Maryland. The city has announced that Fire Chief Shawn Snider will be honored during National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend in May. Snider died from cancer in 2023. Current Fire Chief Omar Garza and members of the Snider family will attend the event.
