By Johnny Garcia and Carlos De La Cruz will face each other in November’s election for Texas’ Congressional District 35. Garcia defeated Maureen Galindo in Tuesday night’s Democratic primary runoff by about a 60-40 margin.
De La Cruz won the Republican primary, defeating John Lujan by a 58-42 spread. The 35th District extends from San Antonio to Austin. Incumbent U.S. Representative Greg Casar was cut out of the district when its boundaries were redrawn in the 2025 redistricting.
