Cameron County To Have New Judge After Guerra Wins Primary Runoff

(Brownsville, TX) — Cameron County will have a new county judge after the November election. Unofficial results from yesterday’s Democratic primary runoff show Esteban “Steve” Guerra winning 55 percent of the vote in the county judge race. Current Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino, Junior trailed with 44 percent of the vote. Trevino has served as county judge since 2016. Guerra will face Republican Mauro Garza this fall.

 

Salinas To Face Groves In District 41 Representative Race

(McAllen, TX) — The field is set for this fall’s race for the District 41 Texas House seat. Last night’s results showed Julio Salinas winning the Democratic nomination over Victor Seby Haddad. Gary Groves secured the Republican nomination over opponent Sergio Sanchez. Both candidates will be competing to replace Representative Bobby Guerra, who is not running for re-election.
