A Houston schools administrator will lead the state’s takeover of the Beaumont ISD. Sandi Massey is the newly appointed superintendent of the district, which has struggled with poor academic performance for years.
Massey was the chief of schools in the HISD during the state takeover of the district. She is the third HISD official selected in recent weeks to lead a state takeover.
Former HISD chief Ena Meyers is the superintendent of Lake Worth ISD as of last week. And former HISD chief Daniel Soliz is deputy superintendent of Fort Worth ISD.
