Iran says the U.S. is ready to “return to commitments,” but denies that talks have been taking place. Iran’s deputy foreign minister made the comments Wednesday without much explanation, possibly referring to the agreement made in June before a ceasefire fell apart.
Under that agreement, the U.S. had promised to lift its naval blockade of Iranian ports while maritime traffic would have free transit of the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump claims talks have been happening, “whether Iran wants to admit it or not.”
