San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones says the City Council doesn’t enough votes to cancel Ye’s upcoming concert at the Alamodome.

The rapper formerly known as Kanye West has sold 50 thousand tickets to his July 4th show at the downtown stadium. At issue is Ye’s history of antisemitic remarks.

Jones and others say the city-funded arena is the wrong venue for somebody who expresses those views. But six City Council members stated on Tuesday that the use of a public venue doesn’t mean the city endorses Ye’s views.
