Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is investigating the American Academy of Pediatrics, claiming the organization may have had financial motives for promoting childhood vaccines.

Paxton’s office announced on Wednesday that the probe will focus on whether the nation’s largest association of professional pediatricians made vaccine recommendations that were influenced by financial relationships with drug companies instead of scientific evidence.

Paxton claims pharmaceutical companies are among the organization’s top corporate donors.
