Hidalgo County investigators say a six-year-old boy died from electrocution in rural Alamo over the weekend. First responders were called to the 59-hundred block of Viesha Avenue on Saturday night and were informed that the child had already been taken to the hospital by a family member.
Jordan Aure Buitron was pronounced dead after he arrived. The investigation discovered that stakes driven into the ground to hold a water slide punctured an electrical line, causing the surrounding ground to become energized.
The boy was electrocuted after coming into contact with the energized ground. His death has been ruled accidental.
