The Texas Attorney General’s office has launched an investigation into more than one-thousand cities, making sure they’re complying with a new law that limits property tax increases.
Andrew McVeigh with the group Texans for Fiscal Responsibility says if cities don’t follow the rules, which call for an audit, then they’re banned from raising property tax rates.
