U.S. Representative from Texas Troy Nehls says he will not run for re-election in 2026. Nehls announced his decision on Saturday, saying he wants to focus on his family after consulting over Thanksgiving. He says he plans to personally inform President Trump.
Nehls has served in Congress since 2021, and following the announcement his twin brother, Trever, immediately declared his candidacy for the seat. Nehls’ departure follows Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s resignation announcement, adding uncertainty to the Republican majority in the House.
