The Texas Department of Transportation wants drivers to slow down to reduce the number of deadly crashes.
TxDOT is providing funding and resources to area law enforcement agencies for Operation Slow Down.
Additional patrols will be monitoring speeding on Texas highways through August 2nd. TxDOT says speed-related crashes were responsible for more than 12-hundred deaths last year.
