Waymo is issuing a voluntarily software recall after one of its robotaxis drove into high water in San Antonio last month and was swept away. The driverless car was recovered from Salado Creek several days later. It wasn’t carrying any passengers at the time of the accident.
A Waymo spokesperson says the recall affects their entire fleet of nearly 38-hundred vehicles nationwide. Autonomous Waymo cars are back on the streets in San Antonio, but they won’t pick up passengers in the city until further notice.
