People across the U.S. will be able to see a rare green comet streaking across the sky this week. NASA says Comet Lemmon will make its closest approach to Earth on Tuesday, coming within about 55-million miles from Earth.
Viewers will be able to see the green comet shortly after sunset toward the western sky, and it could be bright enough to be seen with the naked eye. Binoculars or a small telescope are recommended, however, along with viewing from dark areas outside the city for the best view.
