A Weslaco police officer is getting special recognition from Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Officer Noel Barajas has been given the MADD Enforcement Hero Award after making 29 DWI arrests in 2024. The group says they received over 400 nominations for the award. The City of Weslaco also honored Barajas in a Facebook post, noting the award recognizes his professionalism, vigilance and commitment to serving with integrity and excellence.
