The Los Fresnos school district is looking for a new superintendent. The district’s board of trustees announced the pending retirement of Superintendent Gonzalo Salazar yesterday.

Salazar has led the school district since 2005, stepping in as interim superintendent before taking the job permanently in 2006. He’s spent 37 years as an educator, working as a teacher and a principal in the school district. He will retire at the end of the school year.
