The City of Misson is kicking off construction on a new drainage project. Local officials gathered on Francisco Avenue for a Friday groundbreaking ceremony for the Astroland Drainage Project.

The city says the project will increase the size of the existing drainage infrastructure, including a detention pond that will help improve stormwater management. The Texas General Land Office is providing funding support for the construction.
