Two members of Congress from South Texas are giving their reactions following a shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Republican Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz said she was thankful for the quick Secret Service reaction during the Saturday night event in Washington, DC. She also expressed thanks for the safety of the President and the First Lady, and asked all South Texans to pray for peace in our nation.
Democratic Congressman Vicente Gonzalez also thanked law enforcement and the Secret Service, adding that political violence of any kind must never be tolerated.
