H-E-B is recognizing two South Texas educators for their efforts in the classroom. Carolina De Anda and Claudia Cortez were honored with H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards over the weekend.

De Anda received the Elementary Rising Star Award for her work at Carmen Anaya Elementary in the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo school district. Claudia Cortez of Gladys Porter Early High School in Brownsville was honored with the Secondary Leadership Award.

The recognitions come with grants for each school and a monetary award for both educators.
