Voters in San Benito have elected a new mayor. Unofficial results from Saturday’s election show Pedro “Pete” Galvan beating Mayor Ricardo “Rick” Guerra with 67 percent of the vote.
Voters re-elected Elsa Mayor Alonzo “Al” Perez, Laguna Vista Mayor Michael Carter and Mercedes Mayor Oscar Montoya on Saturday.
Perez and Montoya won by large margins, while Carter edged challenger Darla Jones by 37 votes.
