The National Weather Service is releasing its preliminary report on a weekend storm that caused at least three injuries in Cameron County.

The weather service says a severe thunderstorm caused a microburst that damaged homes, power poles and other property in the north-central area of the county.

The microburst traveled a path that was about 13 miles long and one mile across and lasted about 25 minutes. Peak winds were estimated at between 65 and 80 miles per hour.

Anyone who suffered damage is urged to go to the Texas Division of Emergency Management website and fill out a report.
