At the order of Governor Greg Abbott, state emergency response resources are activated ahead of possible severe weather over much of the state.

Abbott directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to activate the state’s response on Sunday. The heavy weather is expected to last through this morning across West, North, East, Central, and South-Central Texas.

Forecasters are warning that the system may produce wind gusts above 75 miles an hour and hail more than two inches in diameter.
