A Venezuelan doctor detained in McAllen last month has been released from a federal immigration facility in Raymondville.
Dr. Rubeliz Bolivar was getting ready to board a flight to California on April 11th when she and her five-year-old daughter were detained last month. Bolivar was on her way to an immigration hearing when she was taken into custody.
Officials say Bolivar is in the country illegally and that her visitor visa expired in 2017. She was released from the El Valle Detention Facility yesterday, though ICE says it will continue efforts to have Bolivar deported.
