A South Texas high school baseball team will be playing for a state championship this weekend. Sharyland beat Kingwood Park 5-2 on Saturday to advance to the Class 5-A, Division Two state finals.

The Rattlers will now face Lovejoy at Dell Diamond in Round Rock on Friday night. Sharyland is reportedly the fifth team from the Rio Grande Valley to advance to the state championship.
