By Cameron County leaders have approved a tax abatement, in an effort to create a shipyard at the Port of Brownsville. It’s a 19-year agreement between Saronic Technologies and Cameron County. The company has plans for a 3-billion-dollar shipyard that could employ 10,000 people by 2034.
