A man accused of causing a deadly crash in Mission last month is now facing murder and manslaughter charges. Thirty-nine-year-old Apolonio Perez was charged last week and had his bail set at over three million dollars.

Investigators say Perez was riding a motorcycle that evaded a traffic stop at Business 83 and Bentsen Road on May 3rd. He allegedly crashed into another motorcycle on the Frontage Road near Holland Avenue, killing John Andrew Alonso.

The suspect’s blood alcohol content was reportedly more than twice the legal limit about an hour after the crash.
