Authorities are confirming that a Mission doctor convicted of healthcare fraud has been released from prison. Jorge Zamora-Quezada was convicted in 2020 on multiple charges related to intentionally misdiagnosing and over-treating thousands of patients.

The scheme reportedly generated a profit of 240 million dollars for Zamora-Quezada. He spent seven years in jail before he was sentenced to a ten-year prison term last year. He still must serve three years on supervised release following his release.
