Tropical Storm Bertha is the second named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season after forming on Monday. NOAA reports Bertha’s wind speeds have increased to at least 40 miles per hour.
Bertha is tracking northwest along the Gulf Coast and the center of circulation is expected to arrive in southeast Texas on Friday. The impact on the Houston area is likely to be minimal.
The main threat will be rain and there’s only a 30 percent chance of storms locally on Thursday and Friday.
