Astronomers believe a discarded SpaceX rocket has crashed into the moon. The multi-ton Falcon Nine rocket has been floating around the moon since last year, when it was deployed to launch a lunar lander.
The space junk was projected to hit the lunar surface overnight at a speed of 54-hundred miles per hour. Astronomers have not yet been able to confirm the impact. NASA says the collision should create an impact crater about 60 feet wide and 12 feet deep.
